LCHF Steak Flatbread

This LCHF Steak Flatbread is bursting with flavours of pesto, olive oil, tomatoes and sweet basil.
It only takes about 10 minutes to prepare too!

LCHF Steak Flatbread is a great Low Carb alternative to a quick café-style meal.

If you’re missing open sandwiches or just feel like something different for a change, these flatbreads are awesome.

It’s really very filling!

Servings: 4
Time: 10 minutes
Difficulty: easy

You will need:

400 ml almond flour
4 eggs
100 ml melted butter
fine salt
+- 400 g steaks, flame-grilled with a dollop of chilli butter {mix a tsp of minced garlic with 1 finely chopped chilli, mix with 2 tbsp. soft butter}
red pepper pesto
wild rocket
sweet basil
rosa tomatoes / cherry tomatoes
spring onions
olive oil
salt flakes

Mix the almond flour, eggs, melted butter and a large pinch of fine salt.
Divide the mixture in 4 and spread into 4 oval-shaped flatbreads onto a large {greased} microwavable plate. {You might need to do this in batches.}
Microwave in high for 3-4 minutes until the flatbreads are cooked.

Spread a dollop of pesto onto each flatbread, followed by a generous drizzle of olive oil.

Top with wild rocket, sliced steak, shredded basil and halved tomatoes.
Season with salt flakes and another generous drizzle of olive oil and garnish with spring onion.

This is a great way to use up leftover steak and you could even have this for breakfast.

I really don’t miss bread on this lifestyle, but something like this LCHF Steak Flatbread every now and then just adds another option for serving those toppings! Just think of it as a vehicle 😉

Although these microwave breads will never taste like ‘real’ bread, it’s really not a bad option once in a while.
Just remember they’re loaded with calories {almonds!} and you might even find that you can’t manage that much.

You can play around with different toppings – just use the basic recipe for the microwave bread and you’re all set.
